AZ's Best Locksmith here today to talk to you about our ignition locksmith and what they can do for you.  Ignition work is one of the most difficult and most highly skilled locksmith traits.  Probably not even 10% of locksmiths know how to do ignition work.  Here is how you know  when your problem takes the best of the best.  Well for starters if your lock fails and your key no longer works the ignition it will have to be replaced.

    Removing an ignition

The way you remove and replace ignitions lock cylinders the cylinder has to be turned to the on or run position.  This is normally accomplished with the key but in this case the keys are lost.  Another scenario that can happen would be that you lose your keys and get new ones made off the vin but they don't work in the ignition because it was replaced before its going to have to be drilled and replaced again.  Pictured below is a 2000 grand prix that had a bad ignition as you can see with one precision drill the locking mechanism was erased the cylinder turned to run and then removed from the ignition housing.

This is not recommended by anyone that was not trained to attempt.  It is very easy to damage the plastic ignition housing or mangle everything and not be able to get it out.  There was a very specific hole that was precisely drilled and a special technique to be able to accomplish that feat.  Our ignition locksmith here at AZ's Best Locksmith as you can see here is top notch one of a kind at the top of his game.  We service Chevrolet, Ford, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Mitsubishi, Honda, Kia, Toyota, and GM.
